Unforgettable experience!!!!

The location is absolutely breathtaking. I have never seen such a beautiful place in my life. I wanted a quiet place after our long NZ roadtrip to wind down and this was the best location I could have chosen. The hotel staff are friendly, courteous and very helpful. They started calling us by name on our second day, which was a great feeling. They helped us book restaurants and car rentals. They also helped me to arrange my wife's birthday and all the staff sang (for her) which was great. Food is amazing. Lunch is served by the lagoonside and you can’t ask for a better view than this. Free breakfast is 5 star with everything you could ask for even though they call it tropical breakfast to keep your expectations low. Cocktails are also reasonably priced considering the location of the island. The small boat journey from the main land to the private island is one-of-a-kind experience. There are so many photographic locations in the private island that myself and my wife could not stop taking photos. Kayaks and other water sports are for free. It’s a great location for non- swimmers to go kayaking. The only regret is I did not book a premium beachfront bungalow. I will definitely recommend those bungalows for fellow travelers. AND WE ARE DEFINITELY COMING BACK HERE!!!!!

South Pacific Paradise found!

We have travelled to quite a few islands in the South Pacific and as blue as the oceans are and with the clear waters and abundant sea life - we found an unbelievable breathtaking paradise!

We wanted to visit Aitutaki a few years ago as we’d heard amazing reports from seasoned travellers and journalists appraising its unique beauty and from Boxing Day until now we have absorbed every moment of this splendour.

The islands have a reef surrounding them and within lies the blue lagoon - bursting with beautiful/colourful sea life and with a scatter of sand banks in the middle of the deep waters which ultimately will become small islands. Standing on these formations and walking from island to island, snorkeling, swimming, paddling or cruising across to islands and walking around the islands was incredible .

The private resort was lovely, relaxing and pretty without seeming to be commercialized which takes the pristine and uniqueness away. The views from all accommodation was breathtaking.

The people are friendly and courteous. The food is delicious and fresh.

The atmosphere of all is relaxed, happy and rejuvenated.

The views are as magnificent as any pictures on websites.

We certainly hope it remains the same.

If you want to experience paradise as it always has been then take the time. Wifi is not strong which we were eventually grateful for as we engaged in the activities and ambience of this beautiful place.

We will be going back! Karen & Stephen

Dinner at the Resort

We were lucky enough to be invited for Dinner. It is the most beautiful setting to watch the Sun go down The service was excellent, great cocktails and world class food.Definitely worth staying a few nights. The best rooms are the ones over the water (Overwater Bungalows).

Maire (family of 4 who stayed in 2x Overwater Bungalows)

An amazing stay!

From our pick-up at the Aitutaki airport to the ride on the boat from the main island to our own private island at Aitutaki Lagoon Private Resort, service was amazing!

Our 2 overwater bungalows were beautifully appointed, clean and the view was amazing!! Snorkeling equipment, hand sanitizer, all the personal hygiene amenities and coffee/tea amenities were provided in our room. Clean crisp white bedding and towels were also a welcome treat. The room has a small fridge to keep some beers and left over meals cold… bonus! Air-con was bliss to retreat to when you had been on the deck for a while with the sun blazing down.

Staff took such great care of my family of 4, from the room service on our private deck with full table set-up and great food, to catering to our needs whether it be making an appointment for our massages or organizing kayaks to be delivered to our bungalow water pontoon. A+ Jason and your team of many who looked after us. Thank you so much for an amazing stay

Wonderful Island Resort

Aitutaki is a very special place and the Lagoon Resort on its own little private island is beautiful. We had premium beachfront bures which were steps away from the water with a lovely deep channel for swimming.

The rooms looked like they were recently spruced up with comfortable beds and all the things you would expect to have in a quality resort. The decks with both loungers and table and chairs were great. I actually think the premium rooms are in the best location although you can "splash out" on overwater bungalows.

The activities hut had stand up paddle boards, kayaks and some beach games you could help yourself to, but lying in the hammocks under the coconut trees was the best.

The grounds are all manicured and you can walk or cycle around. There is a well-kept fresh water swimming pool as well.

All the staff are super friendly and take pride in what they do and are great in remembering your name.

We stayed for a week and really enjoyed the Vaka cruise, sailing on a Hobie Cat with Sail Aitutaki and some exploring in a taxi with Auntie Rema (what a character).

A True Blessing Right On Our Doorstep!

After the tough last 18 months it was wonderful to escape to paradise. The Cook Islands have been hit hard because Covid stopped tourism completely. There was no work available so many Cook Islanders came to NZ to earn and send money home. Now there is a big staff shortage in the Cooks.

So, if you were expecting to go to The Cooks and receive the same level of service as pre-Covid days, then you haven't been paying attention to world news!

Come on Kiwis. We should be giving our Cook Island neighbours kindness, compassion and financial security - not moaning and whingeing. They are doing an amazing job with what they have. As tourism increases, so too will their staff and supplies.

We are so blessed to have paradise on our doorstep. Go to the Cook Islands - it's the only safe destination in the whole world right now. Spend your money there, support our neighbours, and have a wonderful, relaxing holiday in the sun.

The Aitutaki Lagoon Private Island Resort is fabulous. It's adults only which is quite nice. The food and rooms are wonderful, and the staff are so lovely and welcoming. Each room has its own bikes for you to use whenever you want. A self-serve guest laundry made washing so easy. The view is incredible! It was quiet, peaceful, restful, and simply amazing.

The warm weather and water are a balm to our winter bodies. It’s beautiful, relaxing and a true paradise-getaway.

Go, enjoy, spread your money around as many businesses as you can. You will love it!

Room Tip: Al the rooms are wonderful. We were in room 220 looking out over the lagoon. It was perfect!

The best staff, location

Thank you so much for a fabulous two and a half weeks! All of the staff were so welcoming and friendly, I felt like family rather than a guest. The resort provides good value for money and the deep lagoon for swimming is just a bonus - I don't think anywhere else on the island can offer that. I can't wait to come back!

Scott M., New Zealand

Isolated and peaceful.

If anything underscores being remote and isolated it's flying to Aitutaki, and then staying at the Aitutaki Lagoon Private Island Resort.

There's a good range of beach & water activities to do, and the sandy beaches are just amazing.

My one big recommendation, is that if you're a person that likes reading on holidays then make sure you bring a good supply of books, because you won't find any (good bookseller) options here, or on the main island, to do much book shopping. Room Tip: South side rooms are quieter and have a better view.

Amazing experience

We had an amazing experience there and highly recommend it! It was a once-in-a-lifetime type of experience we hope to repeat! We stayed in a regular (Beachfront) bungalow. The decor was great, especially the outdoor shower. The staff were very nice and accommodating in every way! We got engaged while we were there. We briefly mentioned it to the staff and they surprised us with a bottle of wine in our room. We are hoping to come back for our honeymoon! We were there in December and it was just so unique to see the holiday decorations, Pacific island style! The blackened prawns at the tiki bar were great! The breakfast buffet was good too. Honeymoon, here we come!

It couldn’t be better

We were picked up by the airport and were given a coconut drink and wreath of flowers. The lady who picked us up was lovely and gave us a ride to the water to take the ferry to the island. At the reception we were given an introduction and we were shown to our room. It was beautiful, very big size. We specially like the outdoor shower. Bikes were included and snorkelling gear. We had dinner at the restaurant, I couldn’t fault it, it was delicious. Thank you for giving us such a great time.

Absolutely Amazing

We are still currently here on our honeymoon in an overwater bungalow and this place is incredible.Staff are amazing, the view incredible and the food is delicious. It was my husband's (first time I have written that) birthday today and they went out of their way to help me surprise him with a dinner on our balcony over looking the sunset. Magical. We will be coming back and recommending it to all our friends. So relaxing and everything we could of dreamed for a honeymoon plus more. Also still have another night of this bliss.

Relaxing Break

We stayed in an over water bungalow and the views were simply stunning. The room was also well set out and even had an outdoor shower. Not a lot to do on the island but very relaxing and having bikes out the front of every villa made commuting around the island very easy.

Overall an enjoyable relaxing stay.

Paradise Found

We went here on a recommendation and I'm so very pleased that we did. How perfect, from the pickup at the airport until it was time to leave and the drop back to the airport. Will we be going again - as often as possible. All the staff are so very obliging, maybe it is that they are so happy to be sharing their lovely island. This is a perfect holiday location. Did not want to leave this piece of paradise.

A small step from hell to Paradise!

I had booked another place to stay for 6 nights - for very important reasons I have to say that even in Aitutaki it can be a small step from Hell to Paradise. I came to Aitutaki Lagoon (Resort) a rainy morning. I took the "short step" via Aitutaki Lagoon (Resort’s) ferry. A smiling girl - Nane - was very helpful to explain about the resort and I felt very welcome, even before I had been to reception. After check in I was in another world - in a Paradise on Earth. I had a stay for 3 nights in a bungalow which was very spacy and just on the beach - biking out to east to watch Sunrise - choosing a sunbed in all directions - meeting warm welcome every morning and have breakfast in restaurant - good quality lunches and dinners to very affordable prices. It is far from Norway - but it is worth to go!! I will miss everything about Aitutaki Lagoon - until next time! Thank you every one!

Fantastic location and service!

We stayed in one of the over the water bungalows for 4 nights. It was so peaceful and breathtakingly beautiful! We were in bungalow 34 and had an octopus that lived under our deck. We would watch it leave in the mornings and come home in the evenings. The staff here is WONDERFUL! All of them. I'm sorry, I can't remember all of their names. Viriama, Noni and Pa (the ferry driver) were a hoot! Everyone addressed us by our first names as soon as we got there. Pa seems gruff and grumpy but we worked on him the whole time and had him smiling and laughing before we left. Viriama was our server for our beach dinner and she made it so much fun! We all laughed so much that evening. Yes, it's a bit of an outdated resort but the location and staff completely make up for that. I loved having our own bikes that we could ride around the resort and take into town. Also having paddle boards, kayaks and snorkel equipment was so perfect! Koru (yummy breakfast and lunch), The Boat Shed and The Blue Lagoon are all with in a 5 minute bike ride.

Island paradise

Absolutely stunning. The location, the resort, the staff and the facilities were all fabulous. Breakfast and lunches were great. And although the evening meal we had there was nicely cooked the contents of the menu were not to our taste. This meant we experienced other restaurants on the island. Anyone wanting a relaxing holiday in a picture perfect location this will not disappoint. A special mention of Antoniette who greeted us at the airport, Papaba who always guided us over on the barge and Fa who was always so helpful. These people did everything with a smile. We will miss them. So thanks for making our holiday special. ROOM 5 Brent and Shelley from NZ

The best room on the island

We have been at the Aitutaki Lagoon Resort in the over water bungalow and it was amazing. The room was exceptional and the view...is not even describable. The staff of the Resort is really nice, all the guys and girls are friendly and accommodating.

I definitely recommend this place if you want to see the best water.

Craig, New Zealand (stayed during July)

BRILLIANT, relaxing, comfortable...cant say much more really!!

We had a good look around Aitutaki and were so pleased we chose the Lagoon Resort as it was the best location of all and provided everything!! ...swimming, snorkeling, food, comfort, friendly staff, location, etc. Only negative (well not really a negative) was how far away it was from the centre of the main island, but the facilities made up for that and hiring a scooter was the way to go! When we go back, we would choose the same location…and a beachfront bungalow is the best place to be!!

Angela, New Zealand (stayed during February)

Staying in the overwater bungalows is an absolute must do. Loved our stay and looking forward to coming back.

The overwater bungalows are a must. Lovely and spacious, plenty of amenities, absolutely loved our stay and the outlook is stunning. Loved being able to swim and snorkel directly off our deck. Staff were also very friendly and helpful.

Leon, New Zealand (stayed during August)

Loved our stay. Staff were so awesome. Will definitely return with the kids.

Nice and private island, very quiet and awesome for relaxation. Very friendly staff, clean facilities and so much more. Our overwater bungalow was amazing. Cannot fault at all. We were gutted we didn't have enough days to fully explore the island but will come back definitely.

We loved the private island. Our over the water bungalow was awesome. The island was beautiful and calm and peaceful. We enjoyed kayaking and paddle boarding and snorkeling. The staff members were so nice and friendly. We would love to go back!

Tracey, Australia (stayed during March)

The resort is located on a private island and is adults only. We particularly love the site as it is on the best part of the lagoon - surrounded by pristine waters. The management and staff are extremely hospitable and get to know each and every guest. Some of the units are currently being upgraded and the grounds are pristine and lovingly cared for daily.

Paradise!

We stayed in the over the water bungalows and it was a dream! Great and helpful staff! Good meals:). Used the complimentary kayaks, SUP's, snorkel equipment:). Our room was a perfect set-up for travellers. Limited wi-fi in room, had to do in lobby area, but we were pre-warned. I would have liked if things didn't shut down at 9pm, maybe a little night life, but was the same in Rarotonga and it’s a bigger island. BEAUTIFUL VIEW!!! We would definitely come back!

Verified Traveler (stayed during January)

Loved the location and view of the lagoon. Was close to great restaurants, and easy access to the airport and lagoon. Lots of equipment free to use. The bikes were nice for getting around the island.

a very unique property located within a stunning atoll

Becky (stayed during October)

We loved the property. It’s beautiful and they worked hard every single day to keep it neat and clean by cleaning up and sweeping and trimming. The ocean there was spectacular and the rooms were nice as well. Recommend it! 5 out of 5.
